I love these atypical and fun vases !

These vases are in the shape of colored plastic bottles and cans.

These vases are inspired by a collection of plastic waste from the Maas river in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

After researching "Plastic soup", Foekje Fleur began to look more closely at the river that ran through her hometown and found plastic waste that had been accumulating there since the 1960s.

By creating sustainable porcelain copies of the material she finds, Foekje Fleur is raising awareness of the growing problem of pollution.

This series is handmade in Portugal.

The exterior of the porcelain is a bisque which gives a matte finish similar to plastic.

The inside of the porcelain bottle vase is glazed to make it waterproof and suitable for use as a vase or container.

Dimensions: 23.8 × 9.4 × 4.6 cm.

This vase is handmade in Portugal.

Plastic bottles are used to create moulds.

Pigmented liquid porcelain is poured into the moulds, leaving a thin layer that forms the shape. After drying, the inside of the bottle is glazed without lead and fired at 1300ºC.

All this manual work is done by a team of seven craftsmen, so no two bottles are exactly the same.

The picture shown is an indication, minor colour changes are possible.

Overall, the surface is smooth, but small flaws appear and should be considered a quality of the product.

The vases are shipped without plastic, in a double box, and are accompanied by a brochure and a postcard.
